Default Fuel injectors keep popping out of the fuel rail

Here for the past month or so, at random times my fuel injectors will come loose from the top, so that the o-ring is just out of the fuel rail, and fuel will spew everywhere. I can always smell it, so I pull over, get out my tools and reseat my fuel rail. It happens to any random injector, and happens about once a week. I have speed inc. fuel rails, and ls6 intake, and stock ls1 fuel injectors.

I posted this in the fueling & injectors section, but the conclusion there was that my intake was an ls2. I'm 99.9% sure it's an ls6, so I figured I'd post here to see what you guys think it might be.

if your bolts are tight, then I dont see how seeing it sandwiches them into the intake.

you have to have not used the mounting brackets. That's the only possible explaination. They're little "L" shaped brackets that bolt to the side of the rail and to the intake manifold.

You may need spacers like you do on fast intakes. If the injector isn't seated in the intake completely when completely seated in the rail you need spacers

You need to get it fixed. Had a friend's 94 Cobra burn to the ground with the exact same problem. He was too lazy to fix it.

I'm definitely using the mounting brackets. i was wondering if i got some 30#+ injectors if that would fix it.

hmm... well the guy i bought the fuel rails from said he used them on his fast intake for a few passes at the track. Could that have something to do with it?

Have you tried putting the stock fuel rails back on to see if the issue persists? Quality controls does let a few bad ones slip by.

I don't understand how this is possible if the fuel rail is securely bolted down. Is the fuel rail actually coming up off the injector, or when it is bolted down is the injector too short so that when fully seated in the intake it can come out of the rail?

I have the fuel rails bolted down to the manifold via the brackets. It's only one injector at a time when it happens. I smell fuel, pull over and take a look. The injector is always JUST past the top o-ring. I mean, the o-ring isn't even all the way out of the fuel rail, it's just not all the way in.

Those are the Proven products fuel rails not Speed inc. rails. Your problem is spacing. Either the mounting brackets are flexing or they are not spaced correctly. If the fasteners are not comming loose there is no other explanation and with that set up I am with the other guy who recomended you stick the stock rails back on there as you don't have a real need for them other than for looks. GL.

I gave my stock rails away when I got these... Is there a way to fix the problem with THESE rails?

Modify the brackets to hold the rail down tighter. Either the rail is coming up or the injector is going down, and that is not acceptable. They have to be bolted down tight where there is not enough play for an injector to come out. I would quite simply modify the brackets or make new ones.

I had a problem with those rails before. They are Prof Products rails. The weak brackets are the problem. Like Jesse said.
These work better.
