Does anyone know for sure what tires they are allowing to run on Sunday night. On the site it says HARD DOT but it doesnt specify. I am about to order new rear tires for the bird and I dont want to order something that they wont let me run on.

Are Micky DR's ok, BFG DR's, Nitto DR's???

What is acceptable?

I think any street driven drag radials is fine. Just not slicks. Anything thats DOT approved for street use like Mickey Thomson, Nittos, BF Drags...basically anything with tread lol. I think MT is the closest thing to a full slick because of the soft compound but still street legal and has tread.

I would be inclinded to agree with you but they tried to boot Bat! last sunday for having that monster Mickey DR. Hopefully they will get details that ironed out in the next few weeks.

was he running like a drag lite or something? Like a 15in rim? They technically want a street rim with a street tire (radial)

Hell yeah, I delivered pizza in my T/A for 4 years on a 3800 stall and skinnys. No one is going to tell me my car is not daily driveable. Drag racing started on 14" wheels, Im just asking for 15's. What is so wrong with that?

Technical Definition of what a street car is:

"What makes a car a street car is limited only to what your wife can stand to ride around in." NO MORE, NO LESS.

If that's the case then I guess every fox body from ,what, 1985-1993 would be uneligable. Didnt they come with draglites from the factory? lol

I agree. I have Hoosier quick time pros and they say DOT on the side. I got pulled over in Leon Valley on those tires and they didnt say anything, and they are very **** about the little things

Well if it's stamped dot on the tire then they should be legal for Sunday. Regardless of the manufacture

I agree with you. DOT wrinkle wall or DOT drag radial or DOT never gonna hooks. All tires, but hey, it's not my event. Just my .02

I think they look for the DOT# stamp on the sidewall. Some tire companies have been going cheap nowadays they place a sticker with a barcode. They used to brand the tires with an iron.

There not going to let you run a hoosier. I had highest mph at last event with 149. Danny had a 150 pass in the zr1 and got booted because he had a hoosier drag radial. Also be be carefull no water in the water box. They will only spray a little water on the asphalt then you roll thru it and do a burnout. Broke alot of cars doing this. Hell you can go to street events and they put vht and water on the street. I would go to another one if they put water in the boxes but for now I think we are done. Not going to risk breaking an expensive IRS for no water on a burnout. Hopefully Lethal will be racing against some of the big cars in Houston and Dallas at the KOTS event they have at an private airport. We also went to a track rental yesterday and ran 9.71@146 so Lethal has the cam only record for a ZR1 right now! Hell yea!

Bfgs and Nittos are ok. Freddy told me no Mickey Thompsons, and didn't let me run with Hoosier drag radials. Ran a 9.90@150 ,then he said no AFTER I had been teched in with them. I understand not being able to use a ET street because it is a bias ply tire, but a drag radial is a drag radial. Also, they are not spraying any water,so more of a chance ******* up your car if you are running a drag radial.
