Not anymore, in fact some states use this technique often and write tickets for "aggressive" or "reckless" driving and the like.
I also love the new cop cars over in the houston/woodlands area that use ghost letters on a white car/truck. They are absolutely invisible at night/day without direct light on the emblems.
I'll say one thing, you'll never see me pull over for one of them unless I find a parking lot lit up like christmas with about a 1,000 bystanders. Red light cameras with no human component and now unmarked cars to lure people into a trap.
Otherwise, I like it.

Yep this guy seems pretty cool. A black SUV constable and the black camaro were behind me the other day (I was in my SS). He flew up to get beside me, I gave him a thumbs up, he did the same and punched it. Kinda funny and kinda cool. He didn't go really fast, maybe picked up 20mph or so and maintained. I sped up to try and chat but he took the u-turn turnaround. He lives in my area, and the guy that did my stripes did the blackout stuff on the car (tail lights/bezels/etc).
Cant wait to chat with him sometime when I can catch him and I'm in the SS.

Used to be like that here many years ago. They now have the authority. I have seen a few of the white vehicles with the ghost markings. This is the first one I've seen in black. Looked at the first picture, nice. Second one, nice. The third one, what is that on the side? Then the fourth, oh $hit. I have a few friends in law enforcement. They are car guys and cool, but they also have a job to do.

I have been pulled over by a Texas Constable. I was given a ticket because I didn't have an insurance card in the car. He was by far one of the coolest officers I have delt with.
