Any engine shops work with insurance?
I am capable and willing to rebuild the engine myself, BUT since there is a lien on the vehicle, the insurance will probably only cut the check as a two party, either the bank and myself, or the shop and myself. So I may be limited to what I can actually get done. My perfect situation is to have the check cut directly to me, and I can get the vehicle towed home and work on it as needed, but I doubt that will happen, if its not totaled. So, once the adjuster is there from the get go, I will probably need it transfered to an engine shop that works with insurance.
Let me know what ideas/suggestions you have on how to work the angle on this particular situation and which shop to go to if need be.

It was very nice for gforce to tell him they would work with him... But he might have worked out a deal with the insurance company that he gets what he wants because they don't have to pay for labor.
keep us updated and its good it's not totaled!!!
come on man, we all respect the guys over there for good reason but im pretty sure they have wives or girlfriends to swing their nuts for them.
I didn't, I called and talked to Robert

I worked out a deal with my old shop that would essentially sign the insurance check over to me.
Yup, called and they didn't really want to do shady work around of the insurance, which I can definitely understand and even respect!
I ended receiving all of the money from the insurance and found a brand new HKE 408 shortblock so I am picking that up at the end of the week.
Ha, I tried to start it knowing it sucked in a ton of water, but there were cars honking and blowing there horn at me. It stalled half way up the driveway and some cars were stuck behind me sitting in the water, lol. I had to try and get her moved! It eventually did start....for a second...
