Id say keep the vette unless have the need for 3 other people to sit with you then get the family car GTO. They are heavy and most are slow. I guessing the the vette is all stock save the money put some cam, heads tada youll be eatting GOATS all day long

I'm comin' at ya from a different aspect.......
When my Dad passed on in '98, he had a bad-*** car financed through Ford Motor credit (Thunderbird). They (Ford) treated me right, gave me three options, 1) hand in the keys back to Ford and walk away (which is what I ultimately did), 2) outright buy the car for the remaining balance he owed (which is what I shoulda done), or 3) trade it in at full retail towards whatever I wanted on the Ford lot.
I kick my *** almost everyday that I didn't keep that car...It was a great car for a 6 - it got great milage - looked good - and IT WAS MY DAD's!!!!!
Think about it - let you conscious be your guide.
Good luck!

GTO suspension is crap, and so is the rear end.
Everything else is solid IMO, great DD's. With full suspension and some IRS work those cars have quite a bit of potential. But I would look into a G8 as well, they don't have suspension problems and have a much better rear end from the factory. Just a better car than a GTO stock for stock. Especially a GXP.
I hate C5's, I can't fit in them and the interior is crap. Sure they can be stupid fast, but I would never buy one. I can understand that one having a sentimental value to you, though.

GTO's make for great daily drivers far better then the C5, but if you want speed go for the C5. The GTO may look like a Cavalier from the outside but the C5 looks and feels like one on the inside.

Well....
Made the trade. Got 21k for the Vette, which is what I paid for it.
Paid 16,900.00 for the GTO.
The Vette had some damage from me hitting a chick in Highland Park in the rain. I had 2 other trade in offers on the Vette, 19,500 from Vandergriff and 20,500 from Van Chevrolet.
Jarrod the young kid from Don Davis was cool. Got to see Goat vs Vette on the way back to my house to pick up some paperwork and move my junk from one car to another.
Took the Goat for a drive last nite.....
Shifter broke.
So if anyone knows where to get a stock shifter or aftermarket in DFW Today.... hit me up!

cuz my oldass lt1 keeps up with em stock. the vette has sentimental value which is why you should keep it. if anything, keep the vette as a daily or a weekend cruiser and buy a z06 for fun. from what people are saying you have a charger. sell that piece of **** and dont look bad. the only good thing chrysler puts out lately are their diesel trucks, and the cummins is what makes it so great, not the dodge factory
