Default Ion redlines

Im looking around for another car and was checking out some cobalt SS S/C and then thought of the ion redlines, its pretty much the same car if im not mistaken but the 1 iv found for sell is much cheaper then a cobalt SS.

Anyone know what the deal is on these cars? Just as good as a cobalt SS? and if so, where can i get one

I set out after a grand prix GTP and have only found one i like for a decent price, so i started looking for other supercharged 6 or 4 cylinder cars.

i had a 05 RL before i got my CETA. cool lil car. there more or less the same thing as a colbalt ss/sc except the body is plastic, runs 17's not 18's recaros come standard in them, seats on 4 compared to 5 in the ss, and the one thing hated most about them what the damn gauges in that stupid pod in the center of the dash ( does make spirted driving difficult sometimes). mine had the a K&N CAI, 2.85 pulley, 60lb injetors, solid motor/tranny mounts ( the whole cars viberated) B&M shifter, GMPP drilled/sloted rotors with hawk pads, turbo tech 1in rear sway bar(best thing i ever bought for the car), modified pacesetter header with 3in catless DP, and a 2.5 magnaflow catback. that car was loud. but at WOT you still heard the lil SC screaming! i never had any problems with it but the clutch in them is trash, they start slipping if you add any type of power mods. if you get one i recommend doing a gm stage 2 and the 1in rear swaybar. if you have any other questions feel free to ask and ill post some pics for you in a minute

ya there fun but your not going to need 60lb injectors or a 2.85 pulley. stock stage 2 is 3in and before i sold it i was about to go back to stock stage2 injectors and a 2.9 pulley

Buy a GTP. I'd rather have a fwd sc v6 than fwd sc i4. However, the manual transmission on the Ions and Cobalts are very appealing. But, i like the GTP a4. The GTP has a performance shift feature where it raises the shift points and increase fluid pressure. You def can feel a difference in power. Also, there is tons of interior room. Its a nice interior with great seats. The Cobalt/Ion interior is awful.

Iv drivin a GTP and i really enjoyed it, even with TC on and power shift off.

I went to a dealer today a hour away to check one out i really liked it but the owner was just like, im to busy to deal with this right now... It was a 2000 but with cloth, heads up display, white, coupe 109k miles.. ran pretty good im sure it could use better fuel. Didnt give to drive it but thats the only one in austin iv found. and they want $4900

I was trying to find a cobalt but no luck..

I've heard they're quick/fun little cars if done right. I could just never get over how ugly the front ends were...

Those goofy dudes did a great job with a near impossible swap, but you still have a fwd m6. I'd rather be mashing on rwd v8 m6.
