Well, it looks like I'm picking up an 01 Lexus IS300 tomorrow, thoughts?

Patrick, my take on Lexus is there was only one acceptable model in our price range when I was shopping for my wife. I'm talking about the '92-97 SC300. Rear wheel drive, 2JZ motor, reliable, excellent road manners, comfy interior (in front, anyway ) nice sound system, great A/C, etc. etc.

We found one in Fort Lauderdale with 81K miles and 9 out of 10 condition all the way around. It had 17" wheels and high quality window tint already. Deal was struck and I had it shipped out here.

It's also a Toyota (SUPRA) with a Lexus badge on it.

[After '97 they put in the ghey VVTi motors. Do not buy one younger than '97 or it won't have the true NA Supra 2JZGE motor]

Whoever said its a Corolla with a Lexus badge on it is retarded. Does a Corolla come RWD? Does a Corolla come with a 2JZ? Does a Corolla come with an amazing interior? Does a Corolla come with the road manners of a true luxury sport-sedan? No.

Nice car Patrick.

Whoa, Sarge wait a minute! For a second there it looks your trying to use "reason" in a post. This is ls1tech, such things have no rhyme or reason here.

It surprises me that in the Texas forum we're talking about foreign cars here. I thought we were at least one state that knows what's going on but I guess theirs still a bunch of Libs even in Texas. At least if you're getting a new car grow a pair and get a real car.

in my opinion, our cars are bought for the engine and subsequently straight line performance.

the lexus is probably good for almost everything else. just too bad they're mostly all autotragic.
