Need some mod help
So I've been thinking of getting some mods done soon. This might sound stupid/ridiculous, but my main goal is to get my car up to speed with my dads car just to shut him up. He drives a crossfire srt-6. So I was just wondering what you guys would suggest be my first step in mods. Currently there's nothing done to my car other than a custom lid and exhaust (so in other words, practically stock).

about your car, what year is it? stick or auto?
Long Tube headers, P&P both the throttle body and MAF, Mail order tune, and if it doesnt already have one an LS6 intake, if its not a 98 model then swap in the D585 truck coils.
all above are relatively inexpensive but rather effective, do the tune last.

With a quick search, the Crossfire SRT6 runs a low to mid 13, with a few dipping down into the high 12's, or in other words, exactly what an SRT8 Charger/300 runs.
With that being said, I would give a very slight edge to the SRT6. It would not take much at all to give you the edge. Maybe just some LT's and you should be even, or have a slight edge.
Right now, it really should be a drivers race.

As for the exhaust, I honestly don't know =/ I'm the third owner of the car. The first owner installed it, and all the second owners told me about it was that it was a catback exhaust but they knew nothing else about it. And as far as a budget goes, I currently sold off my firebird so i have some extra cash, but the majority of it will be going to paying off the trans am. so I figured that I'm not going to be doing anything too costly until i have the car completely paid off. Thanks for all the suggestions.

dont do gears if your still on the stock rearend, you'll gernade that bitch on your first past since your a m6. long tubes and a off road y pipe and a dyno tune will do more than enough to demolish him. just keep practicing at driving and you'll be set. all that will run you about 1k, 500 for the headers and y pipe and 500 for the tune by g-force or lmr if your in north houston.
