the center bar between the t-tops is a different width on a 77 and 78? A 77 had narrower tops than the 78?

I believe the center bar size matters on which brand of T-Tops you had. There were four companies doing them; Hurst Hatches, Fisher, Cars and Concepts, and American Hatches.

76 to early 78 had the Hurst t tops and in mid 78 they went to the Fisher t tops. The other styles mentioned were like the t tops on our 4th gens then went across the whole roof but were aftermarket.

It's not a big deal, I was just pointing it out. Fisher tops are better anyways.

it is a 77 the car was spun into a pole and damaged the pass side quarter and the inner bracing so i had to use a doner shell from a 79 (the shell was free so i couldnt complain) that is y the car has the bigger fisher t-tops instead of the smaller hurst, but everything else is 77, (title, rest of the sheet metal, bumpers, motor, trans, rearend, interior ect)

That's cool, a lot of work but definitely worth it to save an SE. Hopefully some Pontiac purist won't give you **** about it.

I restored an 80 Turbo S/E and it was a lot of fun. Had a heads cam 400 and it sure sucked gas. The Hurst tops had a lot of issues anyways so if I get another I am gonna spring for the 78.

2 points i would like to make

1) i would get your Bandit TA pregnant if i were within 50 feet of it

2) post pics of the girlfriend - she may or may not be able to get away with what she did to your truck

yes this is true, if i was building it to sell it i would have fixed the original shell and since i plan on keeping it i decided to make it the way i want it. but i know what u mean but sucking gas, mine has a mild cam, edlebrock intake, and exhuast, nothing major and i can pass a gas station with out having to stop

Heres some more pics of the rat rod, its a 1930 Ford Model A sedan, i bought it as a complete car for $1500 kept the body and sold the original frame, motor, trans, rear end, ect to a guy in kansas who restores Model A's for $1400 (i couldnt just throw it away). they i built a 2x3 boxed frame, stuck a crate 350 with a 350 trans and a 10 bolt in it. the body was chopped 6in and channled 3 over the frame. i will be fun once done but still have a ways to go

how i bought it (if ur all about restoring original models as, dont look)

welding on the frame (and my hotrod bike, yes i know its girls bike, no i dont care. Its still cool, fun to ride, and gets alot of attention)

one of the caddy tail lights
