Sorry Chris, but you were definitely "rich kid" material to most. Your bro drove a C5 Z06 to high school too, right? Probably the most modded car in school, as well.
Its okay, just be thankful for what you have. I'd not have turned down those rides on the parent's wallet, either. Who would?

Is it bad when someone doesn't even realize they had it good? You drove a brand new Cobra convertible with a Vortech supercharger, suspension, and other mods....in high school. LOL! Most college grads couldn't afford a combo like that at the time. ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)

I did have it good compared to most, but I had it "bad" compared to others. Depends on where you are looking at it from (Alief vs River Oaks). Personally I am thankful of what I have/came from (good home, good friends, and a Lil Powell (LOL)) and have I ever complained or even brought that up? I just think it is funny that every time money gets brought up in a thread I am in (even when NOTHING about money is involved) it turns into a giant slam fest. Everyone makes it seem like I am not afraid to get my own hands dirty on these cars when in fact... Matt and I have done more than 90% of them on F-bodys, Vettes, Porsches, Mustangs, etc... Both Matt and I have produced numbers, the numbers others have not... But oh well... Haters going to hate... Right?

I give you and your bro a big thumbs up for wrenching on your own cars. Your parents might have had money, but you two are still gearheads in my book. Not check-writers, like most kids that had it good. While I respect all car enthusiasts, I give even more to the guys that get greasy.
I don't mind trading some received hate for success. Its part of the game. Haters just exist due to jealousy, most of the time. I work my *** off, so can they. Most are just too lazy to do it though, because hating is free and easy.
