Because it happened across America basically and it was instant they did not do an autopsy, mainly because we were not sure how long it would take to get him back here. It was one of two things either a MAJOR heart attack or a MAJOR stroke. How he was positioned when my mom found him, etc.. point to that mainly. He had gotten out of bed and gotten his phone to browse Drudge Report (he got an iPhone and had just figured out how to use it; those who knew my dad would understand Technology > my father LOL) while my mom was in the shower so it happened fast (which sucks but atleast it wasn't drawn out and SUPER painful.. ) Both his brother, father and mother had heart problems. All of them had multiple heart attacks (uncle and grandmom had multiple strokes) before passing; but my dad who never had any didn't survive the first... His blood work from the previous week was fine which pisses me off the most. Not much we can do now... We are all here to help take care of mom and make sure everything goes smooth. We will never forget what he has taught us, done for us, and more importantly who he was to us. Again we really appreciate everyone's support. It really does show that in times of need your friends will really stand up to help. Thank you!

Man, the more i think about it, the more it is upsetting to hear a man that probably took care of himself and loved his family just passes, my dad is 60 this month, drinks and takes pills every day, smokes like there is a ban on tobacco to come shortly, takes hardly any care for himself and yet the bastard still lives every day like nothing is going to happen. I will miss him when the time comes, but it is sad to see someone of the opposite end of my fathers life style stop living for no true reason besides god calling his children back.

Just saw this and am also very sorry for your loss as well. You father sounded like a very great guy and will be missed by everyone. Like Pat G said you never know when your time or that of a loved one will come so people need to appreciate every day they have. I've been through that too lately.

Damn! I am sorry to hear this. I did not know your father but I knew he was a big contributor on the Texas section. Most of the stuff I read posted by him were entertaining and funny. I'm sure that was representative of his character.
I wish you and your family the strength needed to carry such a loss.

Sorry to hear this man, I know it can't be easy. Keep your family's spirits up and enjoy your time with them. We never really know just how little time we will get to share with them. Prayers are with you.
