Inspection Sticker Question
Inspection Sticker Question I live in Houston tx and my Camaro will not pass inspection due to some mods
that i of course ONLY use off road
My camaro is a 94 and of course they do the whole stick the probe in the exhaust thing.
Well recently I went to a place Out of the Harris county limits to get an inspection, total cost was $15.00. All the guy did was check my insurance and my lights. And slapped on a new sticker I was in and out in 5 minutes.
Now my buddies said if a police officer pulls me over he will give me a ticket because i have just a "Safety inspection sticker" not the whole emissions and safety inspection sticker.
Mine looks exactly like anybody elses but i guess because its out of harris county limits hes not required to test emissions.
Can any one confirm this?

If you live in a emissions county you have to have your car inspected by a emissions county.
If they see you went out of your way to get it inspected somewhere else they can **** with you about it.

That being said, I'm sure it is allowed if I stay in Lubbock until the inspection expires. If I were to go back to Houston, I could get in trouble

I remember when I was an inspector we could do a safety inspection on a vehicle from an emissions county, but they had so many days (like 30) to get the emissions testing done in their home county for a separate sticker.
