Default Forged LQ9 Build!!!!

I have some knowledge on Ls series but still have a lot to learn. i want to ask you the experts on your opinion on a few things.

I know that when you build a motor normally you build it specific to your Cam specs. I bought the motor as is and was told it was built to be all motor car that could handle 200 shot of nitrous.

My goal is to go all motor route with no Nitrous but find a perfect cam to balance tq and power through Rpm's to maintain street ability.

Q:
For this motor set up what cam do you recommend?

and how much power should this block hold consistently with this setup?

Motor Specs:

LQ9 Iron Block
Bored to 6.1L (370 cubic inch)
J.E. Forged Pistons Flat Top with 5 Valve Release
HellFire Piston Rings Gaped to 20 thousands
Clevitte H series Bearings
Eagle Forged H beam Rods Height 6.125
Ls1 Crank Balanced with rotating assembly

Ls3 head

What size optispark are you going to use??? Thats a big piece of the puzzle for making tons of low and mid range power.

Why are you using LS3 heads?? 317s and 243s are cheaper and proven to make good power.

Change to a 4.1 stroke crank with rods and pistons to match, then you have 427 cubes and then worry about heads that can support those cubes, then worry about a cam. LOL.

Well this is my first Ls series build ive always wanted to do it. I come from the Toyota Supra world and have build 2 around 600 hp which is nothing now a days but cars are now sold and I love LS series and im here to gain knowledge.

To me motor size does matter but im not looking to go any bigger. My mind set is...this is the biggest motor ive ever owned so i want to maximize my Horse power per liter vs just going bigger.

What Optispark do you recommend...im not familiar with that term. I researched it but looks like Ignition system to me?

and Im using the LS3 head because you wont believe what i got this motor for and it was part of the deal and i had also heard that LS3 CFM is very high for an OEM part and is cheaper alternative then buying after market.

To be honest, get with PatG, he can recommend a cam that will get the most from the combination you are putting together. A 370 is great as you get the 4 inch bore and they are still high rev happy with the stock stroke.

LS3 heads better than 243, really? Tons are going to LS3 heads over the 243's in gtos because they make mo powa NA.

EDIT, you say NA then Boost. Pick one cause it'll make it easier for someone to give you proper advice. And it'll hold what you throw at it.

While doing some research ive come across 222/222 and 224/224 set up and i seem to like the idle and performance both offer but im leaning towards 224 more due to it being alot more popular since i read they still hold daily drivablity but have the nice lope sound and power output.

Ive noticed ppl with similar setups as mine with a tune are around 440-460rwp

Daniel im here to learn. I read that LS3 heads were a great bang for your buck for oem. I never said better than 243's but i understand what your saying. ill do some research on the 243 head but ls3 is what i have to work with.

I want N/A but i asked a "what if" question on boost because that was the world i used to live in and i seem to find turbo kits fairly cheap for ls series. Im almost sure with time when i get bored with N/A setup ill go boost.

thanks for the help
