just use a stock replacement.... is there a reason you need a pump that flows 30% more than stock?

well i got heads and cam on my ls1 in a s-10. for a long time it was getting a lil warm on me. but i think i have it all worked out now on getting hot. i just thought 30% more flow would also help from getting hot

if its getting hot you have a problem! there are 1000HP cars out there with stock pumps...Fix your problem and get a stock pump

Its not gonna keep the heat down because it will be moving the coolant through the rad. faster there for the rad wont be cooling down the coolant as much as it would if it was moving slower through the rad..... I would get a stock replacement, just make sure you don't use the (GM) metal shim gaskets use the paper gaskets that you can get at any parts store... they hold better...

I'm using the LMP. It works fine. I didn't notice any significant cooling from stock though. I think the only way you'll notice that is with a bigger radiator and a fan setup that flows 3000cfm or more.

I did a rebuild last year and replaced my stock with a Meziere electric water pump. If you have to replace it anyway, may consider a few extra bucks to get a few HP in return.

Paper gaskets are for the 98s. Ive had much better luck out of the rubber/metal felpro guys with some red rtv.

Not true, the hotter something gets the faster it will cool, as it cools it will cool slower because the difference in temperature drops. So this LMP water pump will start to cool better than stock more and more as the temps go up. This makes it better for longer harder running like freeway pulls or the texas mile, also road trips in the texas summer. another thing worth mentioning is with a larger radiator the coolant flows through slower than a stock rad, so 30% more flow will bring it back to a stock velocity. the thicker and larger aluminum radiators scrub more heat no matter what

now i have a question for you, why are you so dead set on talking the OP out of this pump? do you or do you not have real world experience with it?

thanks for the help. i am really wanting it for the summer heat and when you hit stop and go traffic. well i just put is a new setup. i got two 12" fans pushing and a 16" fan pulling. i know there is alot of cfm flowing and a two core aluminum radiator

The delco metal shim gaskets are **** 90% of WP failure on a late model ls motors are the gaskets failing I know this because I have the pleasure of doing water pumps on ls motors about 3 times a week... they have paper gaskets for 2010 ls motors not just 98s ....

Im talking about a Stock LS1 cooling system GM designed it that way for a reason... with the stock ls cooling system it wont cool any colder or faster than it did from the factory unless you go changing thermostat, rad., fan set up etc...

I do not have any "real world experience" with this particular pump but my argument is solid because as stated earlier in the thread someone had used a pump that flows more and they did not see any gains or lower coolant temps.

I Just don't want the OP wasting his/her money... The money would be better spent on an electric WP....
