I love winter. REAL winter. I was born in Fort Hood, but my father was in the military so we spent 3 years in Wisconsin and 4 years in Germany. It was nice to have not only a white Christmas, but a white Thanksgiving as well. Don't get me wrong I love Texas. This state is my home and where I want to make my living, but I do miss having four seasons every now and then.

my hands barley fit into some spots on a car by themselves much less with gloves on.... it just depends on how cold it is... below 50 is cold and is not fun to work in, anything above 50 i can handle as long as the wind is not like yesterday and blowing at 30+mph

I love when people say "I'm from <insert some place North here>, I don't get cold until it gets negative 50 outside!" Really? So you're genetically different from all other humans that live further South? Cold is cold, it doesn't matter where you live or where you grew up.

I personally love the winter/fall seasons and hate the summer/spring seasons. That's mostly because I've lived in the South my whole life where it's constantly hot, save a couple months throughout the year where it cools down and gets cold every now and then. If I lived in the North my whole life where it was colder longer, I may have a change of opinion, especially since I would be immune to cold weather.

I disagree a bit. I'm originally from Chicago and used to love winter, aside from the damper it put on car-related activities. After nearly 12 years in Central Texas, I know I have become accustomed to a warmer climate. I now find "true" cold weather really annoying when before I'd shrug it off and put on a thicker jacket, etc. It was "normal", just something you dealt with. I do miss having 4 very distinct seasons, but I like being able to do "car stuff" nearly year round too much to ever move back North.

There are holes all in your arguement. It isn't genetics, its conditioning. I've known people from much colder areas. They'll run around in shorts and t-shirt while I'm bundled up at the same temp. On the flip side I found I take the heat better.
I even saw it with my sister when she went to school in ID. She'd come back at the end of the semester and not wear a coat while I'd be cold and bundled up. Her husband is a Swede and its damn cold to me before he wears a coat.
Ever work with someone from a tropical climate? I have and still do. They'll get cold and bundle up way before me. I currently work for a lady from Columbia. She's been saying how cold it is and I'm just laughing because this is only the beginning and not that bad yet. She wore a coat, thick fleese under, and a muffler this morning while all I had on was a tshirt and regular hoodie and felt great.

If you want to get into genetics, that could play a part too. My wife is cold when it hits the high 60's, and we've lived in the same environment for the past 17 years.

wow.....really? people are actually complaining about it being too cold in TX?

we have only 2 seasons in TX:

1) 7th level of hell
2) 7th level of hell
3) 7th level of hell
4) 2 days of sub zero temps, and usually not consecutive

man the **** up and put on some clothes, and let those of us who don't enjoy our ******* faces melting off for the other 363 days of the year enjoy those 2 days without having to listen to a bunch of whining......

Hell no, I hate winter. The colder it gets, the more knuckle-busters hurt when working on the car.

Plus, getting any sort of traction in <45 degree weather is a joke. I'm already waiting for spring...

I actually enjoy it - I spent 2 years in Buffalo, NY so I truly appreciate the "winter" here in Texas now that I'm back
