If you want to build it up then go for it. I'd say start simple and go with a SBC or BBC swap. You can get a complete motor and trans from pick a part for a few hundred bucks.

A 5.3 with a budget turbo would be sweet too.
Well i mean ill clean the interior was thinking some nice racing seats and a roll cage
and a bad *** paint job
if i do get it it will be a LS engine for sure.
maybe a sbc..... but not sure
And i was thinking about maybe a 6.0 with twins?? in the rear.

Are you ever going to put anything in the bed? You could have your turbo's there.

It would already be in my yard if I had that offer. If I had to I would tow it with the Camaro.

Pick it up, do a little research and if too much post it on CL I'm sure you can get a few hundred bucks for it.

how bout you get it fix it up make it dependable/somewhat nice and daily drive it... then you could put the money you would spend in doing a V8 swap towards your WS6 so it can actually be fast and you would be putting less miles on it(win win situation).... thats just my honest opinion for whats its worth...

But i guess i will pick it up this sunday and start working on it.
Hopefully i can get it to run soon

Unless you are very knowledgeable of wiring i wouldn't tackle the job of an
lsx swap. What would you rather have, an s10 with to much money into it or a budget build s10 with more money to spend on your ws6?

stock 5.3, cheap ebay turbo setup, a th350, explorer rear axle. cheap 10 second truck that you can drive every day. keep the power steering, power brakes, and a/c.

in order to put a ls(whatever) in that truck you will need:

either:
- Hummer H3 oil pan
or:
-way to notch the cross member

- motor mounts
- hedders or f-body manifolds, the drivers side will have to be modified
- wiring harness
- C5 corvette accessories
- modified fuel system
- radiator
- electric fans
- shifter
- depending on the trans, will determine if you need to modify/build a trans x-member
- drive shaft

Hey man if you do do the LS swap in the truck I know two guys that can do the wiring and one is the owner of RG Motorsports here in Brownsville so he has lots of experience retrofitting LS engines in older vehicles carbed or efi.

Oh then we will be having a boost build race huh.
Oh BTW I got my quote in just longblock labor. $1055 +parts
But oh well speed costs money so by next two weeks I should start getting the engine built and I'll pay half of the labor costs to get them started.
I'm spending so much right now I have already received notifications from my credit card and bank asking if my cards and checks have been stolen
