^^^^^^^ what joe said ^^^^^^^

pull the oil filter off and cut it open and look for sparkly stuff in the filter, that would be bearing material ......... bad

I can cut the filter open for you if you dont know how, plus i have the tool to do it.

Curious about the oil pressure too. Like said about check out the filter and cut it apart. If thats not it then I guess you could make sure one of the EGR provisions on the headers isn't broke or leaking.

So many different things can make a knock like that. Could be real bad or just one of those things that just made your butt pucker because you "thought" it was real bad and it turn out to be something simple

as for simple stuff cant tell you how many times someones told me " man i fucked my car up" its knocking / tapping . and i go look at the headers and one of the tubes is cracked, the egr provision has came apart and all it needed was some welding work.

One of the reasons i stay away from patriot and k motion valve springs. Things are garbage. You got lucky that the valve locks didnt fall off and let that valve trash your motor.

Yup, same thing happened to me a while back with comp 918s. I've heard from a very reputable friend that most springs are made by the same manufacturer, and then bought by companies and slapped with a brand on them. Take that for what it's worth, I'm not sure if it's true. I'm running Patriot Golds, have been for 7K miles (rough miles haha), and no issues. How many miles did you have on this set?
