both will have the same mileage. (probably worse in the 6.7)
also, are you prepared for all the routine maintenance that truck brings along?
eurea change out
filters
oil
nothing is cheap for a diesel, let alone the outrageous spike in low sulfur diesel prices... unless you plan on pulling a lot, it doesn't sound like you really need a "lifted diesel" unless you enjoy burning money. Although, on the flip side, the diesel will always keep it's value (relatively)

I have had two lifted ones, while they are fun I would kinda like to try out a Raptor or Silverado next. Also the $75 for a tank of diesel just to go to school and work every few days is ******* killing me.

I currently have a bagged 2009 3500 dually. I would just add this to our work truck collection. I was thinking 2011 black extended cab short bed f250 with 4-6 inch lift on 33-35 inch tires. We tow 14k lb trailers. But we also use them for every day trucks also. Tired of using my dually for work.

I'm on an extended cab kick lately. My dually is crew cab. Our 09 2500 with 6inch lift is crew cab then a 2006 f250 is crew cab long bed. Kinda tired of the crew cabs. Sorry RCC not trying to hijack.
How are you Liking the new truck. No sugar coating. Any quirks?

We had to just replace the injector driver on the 6.0 ran 750 plus 300 for install and program. I will take a 7.3 over 6.0 and day they are bullet proof. We had a 2000 with 250k miles running a 80hp chip getting 20-22 mpg with 3500lbs in the bed averaging 70mph.
So now let's ask RCC how's his truck since it's his thread.

Looks like I'll be seeing what ford wants to give ol black lung this weekend.
May end up in a 6.7 PSD Hopefully they have a raptor on the lot though.

RCC you take that thing off any sweet jumps yet? Keep us updated on what you think about the truck and if there is anything that bugs you about it.

That would be such a hard decision for me. Both are sick trucks just in different ways. Drove a Ram 1500 today and it was so nimble and quick compared to my f250.

I already own a tuned, exhaust, intake 2008 powerstroke. I've ran a couple of members on here and surprised the hell out of them. Truck on the big tune was quite surprising.
Gonna miss the **** out of this thing:

Im not a fan of the ford 6.4. We have a 2008 F550 getting all new high pressure fuel system. The truck only has 26k miles on it. The last one went through two radiators, one intercooler, Turbo. Then when all was good Rod knock from bad oil pump.

sounds like improper maintenance if you have had all those issues.
I know there have been some radiator issues, but I haven't seen anybody with as many issues as that.
sounds like you got junk in your fuel system since it is getting all replaced. who does your routine maintenance? where do you get your parts? are you using Ford specific replacement parts?
what are you pulling? how often? who drives this truck?

Ford does service. Its a 16 ft box truck and a good worker drives it. We just have had problems from the beginning. And Ford told us to eat dirt. But its all documented so They did cover it. I do give them that.

Ford superduty or Silverado HD?
Can't decide...
New ford motor and tranny.. could be a gem, but untested vs the duramax..
Tie breaker may be something practical like... can a full grown man lie horizontal in the rear seats (crew cab)..

I drove a 2011 Silverado 2500 HD DMax LTZ and would have to say its the best truck I've ever driven. It has so much power its ridiculous. I wouldn't buy the new 6.7 for a few years.

I test drove a 2011 GMC HD2500 4x4 last week. It was very quick for a factory truck, and it rode nice and smooth compared to my current '06 Ram dually. I had an '08 Duramax Silverado, and it steered like crap. The '11 model is much better, with the new chassis under it. Still not completely sold on any new diesels, when mine is getting 22.1 mpg average and I don't need to use any pig ****. Here is my rig:
