is this possible?

is it possible to put 15w40 engine oil on a gasoline engine? its mostly used on diesel trucks. just want to know your thoughts and inputs.

Why the need? The only big difference is the cold weight.

i just heard that it was good for high mileage cars. motor doesn't knock or anything. motor has 162k and running.

If your oil pressure is still good, I would see no reason to run the thicker (cold) old in there.
