Sorry about you dog. I seen my dog get hit too but I was 13. I still remember it like it just happened. ****** bitch that hit my lab kept going and didn't stop. She did a backflip mid air (got hit by car going 50+) and was bleeding from the nose and ears. 2 seconds later my bus came and my brother and I were balling the whole way to school. Sucks cause she was running to us with her tongue out full sprint as happy as can be.

Anyway, glad to hear your dachshund is doing better now. Hope the recovery goes smoothly and it's back to 100% in no time.

I hope she has a fast recovery. I lost both a dog and and a cat to vehicles. People especially young ones drive forty mph down my street in a subdivision and it pisses me all the time.
At least the girl who hit my dog stopped and cried after seeing what happened. She drives the 25 mph speed now at least in the subdivision.

wow I hate some people.
I know how you feel. I had the same thing happen to my cat 3 years ago, and we had to put him to sleep. This really hits home. Im glad he is going to be ok!

Glad to hear your vet could take care of your dog. I have 2 dogs and both have had some expensive vet bills, but they are worth it. The yare part of the family and will always be treated as such.
I can't believe that person didn't even stop. Probably on their cell phone not even paying attention.

Glad to hear everything is going in the dogs favor for a speedy recovery. I'm sure your baby misses you as much as you miss them. Its amazing in the blink of an eye how things can change for the good or bad. Hats off to a wonderful veternarian and an honorable father, you, for taking care of your dog. Good luck with the healing and you all are in my prayers. I would be lost with out my two dogs.

I had a dachshund and the exact same thing happen I saw him got ran over and it was heart breaking. Took him to the vet and he had a broken pelvis the doc haves us some meds and said to just watch over him and do not let him do alot of moving. He mostly just laid in his bed, we put his food and water bowls beside him so he didn't have to get up. The olny time he got up was when he need to use the bathroom and we would carry him out side to let him do his business then carry him back in. It took almost a month for it to heel completely, after it healed he never had a proably out of it and would run circles around the house. Just give your pet his meds and watch after her/he and everything should be fine.

Damn Sean - sorry to hear man. I've been through something similar when our first dane had HOD and pulled an all nighter the night she passed away. Hopefully everything comes out alright and she doesn't need surgery.
