Default Things that suck...

On an LS1:

1. Replacing the power steering pump.
2. Replacing the high pressure hose when you realize that it wasn't the pump leaking.
3. Replacing the alternator that died whilst coated in a velvety robe of power steering fluid.
4. Doing it at night in the cold with a flakey spot light that had to periodically get poked to come back on.
5. Getting a note from the HOA to clean up the spots in the driveway.
6. Returning alternator core at 8:30pm (They close at 9:00pm) a partially stripped out side post bolt decides to become fully striped while driving down Fry to return the core. Total darkness and silence is scary what you aren't expecting it while driving at night..

Some good news - New pump, alternator, high pressure hose, and positive cable side post bolt has been replaces. I didn't loose much knuckle skin.

Glad it's over for tonight.. Replacing my belt tomorrow.. What could go wrong?

Zing!

I'll add one to the list: Replacing a starter on a C4 corvette, in an apartment parking lot, in the dark, on your back, without jack stands. Yes I was 150 at the time and could fit under it without needing a jack!

I'll add another: R&R of 4L60E using only jackstands.

the R&R in itself isnt bad. R&R a built 4l60e with only jackstands 4 times in 18 months to fix it cuz you blew it 4 times, now that sucks.
