Thats true, the LS1 F-bodies can definitely stomp the LS1 GTO's because of the GTO's massive weight. The GTO does have a much better interior though. I almost bought one before I got my Z28.

Depends on what you wanna do with the car. GTO's are much nicer and are capable of being fast, just cost more to do it.

GTO"S of the day meant....
Gas,Tires, and OIL
so therefore it cost more money.
so my vote is for the T/A

damn! seems unanimous. I just bought the TA a month ago, but Ive already had to replace the tranny seal, an axle bearing, and ps pump pulley. Dont know if this is a bad omen or whatever. I had a 97 TA but it only went 120k. Ive heard only good things about the LS1, though.

gto is so much nicer build quality and interior. really makes the TA look like a car from the 90's, which it is.

Do the upgrade and make the switch. You'll be happy you did.

Really? I ran pretty similiar times to many bone stock TA's/SS cars the first weekend I had my GTO and it was bone stock.

An LS1 car is an LS1 car....they're all quick boxstock and they take to mods the same way. The GTO is a harder car to launch in a straight and a lot of bad drivers give it a bad name.

When there are drivers who can't break out of the 14's and cut 2.5 60 fts and stuff....I'd say there is an issue...lol.

I can't drive for **** and I managed to get low 13's out of her when she was stock.

I recently made the jump after my 01' Z28 was totalled... I'd never go back to an fbody... The GTO is sooo comfortable, and its no punk! Now I will say, I'd ditch the GTO in a heartbeat if I could afford a C6 Vette

would you rather have your GTO cost you Gas Tires and Oil or would you rather use the T/A to get **** and ***? very simple question

the Trans Am would be faster for sure. GTO's are heavy and they look like Grand Am's, but the interior is way nicer. Overall, the Trans Am looks better, especially if its a WS6. If you're going to buy a GTO, at least get a 6.0. At least then it will be competetive with the T/A. I used to **** all over ls1 goats with the cheap bolt ons and a tune, and I drive a pos lt1
