Have you checked what insurance would be? I wouldn't be surprised if it was double the payment. Kinda hard to justify that with it being a weekend car.

Also, I don't know if this car is probably the best toy. I understand you had a few modded F-Bodies and the Vette but that car is a sledgehammer. No traction control, no stability aides, and grown people spin them out and wreck them ALL THE TIME. Probably not the best choice on all fronts.

Actually, insurance on average is higher on the vettes, F-bodies, mustangs, etc than vipers, based on the demographics of people who buy them. Owners of vipers tend to be older, have better driving records, credit, etc, which plays into insurance quotes on any car. My Viper insurance was cheaper than both of my Vettes.

Also, because they don't have all the nanny controls like stability control, traction control you must drive them with some respect and maturity. Any tool can go out and wreck any car, but to say "grown people spin them out and wreck them ALL the time", just is not true.

OP, good luck with your search. Lots of them out there for sale, take your time and buy the best one for the money..

I am partial to the GTS, my 99 was 1 of 22 in this color.

Agreed on those points..my insurance dropped considerably for the Z06..70 a month, 113 for my 03 cobra and possibly less for a viper from what you indicate.

You know what guys, your absolutely right and I'm wrong. I now see that Insurance would be a non issue factor and possibly cheaper on a Viper then a Honda Civic because of the statistically attached demographic. What was I thinking considering that it would even be an issue? Silly me.

I looked at many c6s, the insurance was just a tad more then my 08 Sierra. Even a Z06 was only 200 more then my truck.

IMO Tiago never races his and rarely drives it since he bought it. Clean as hell too. I think it's a good deal and you pay for what you get, just my .02.

I went to Texas Direct Auto once with a friend to check out a GMC truck. It smelled horribly like smoke inside and they wouldn't clean it unless he signed papers on it. Also, their customer service was some of the worst I've ever seen. The salesman kept disappearing and we would wait 20-30 minutes for him to come back, then he would answer one question and disappear again.

I actually owned a new 2005 Civic and a new 2005 Corvette C6 at the same time. Insurance on the Corvette was cheaper. Geico. No joke.

I have Hagerty collector car insurance on my Viper, it is dirt cheap.

I'm not a Viper fan, but another option for a fairly quick but nice car would be a SL55. Nicer ride and hard top convertible. Just tossing out another opinion.
