How big are the factory monsoon head units?

How big are the factory monsoon head units? I know they are double din, but the reason I ask is because I've always had a single din HU in my car, but my friend has an extra off brand 7" touchscreen head unit he's willing to give me... I don't like off brand, but I LOVE free. Anyways, I was wondering if it would fit with no problem since our cars came from the factory with a 2-din stereo.

If im not mistaking they are 1.5 not a double din....Double dins are a bit bigger

I believe when you pull the radio out there is a tab in the back that will need to be cut also. From what I've heard it will not effect the factory radio in any way if you wanted to put it back in.
