12 bolts show up much more often than 9in rears used.... so if you see a 9 inch jump on it.

I personally like 12 bolts. Unless you plan to have a all out 7/8 second car a 9" is what you would want. A 12 bolt will hold 1k HP easily if built with good axles and gear set

I researched it and supposedly all Moser 12 bolts whine. Personally didn't bother me but it was a bitch trying to sell the car because of it.

Street car with power, I'd go with the 12 bolt. If its ever launched on a real tire, then 9 inch. Ive heard of too many quiet 12 bolts that get louder after hard launches.

Moser isn't the only one selling 12 bolts. My Strange 12 bolt is quiet in the whine department but the backlash isn't correct and the seal weld on the passenger axle tube is leaking.

my moser 12 bolt set up by LMR whines much less than my buddys 10 bolt with the same gears, in fact it only really whines when cruising in 6th other than that its not loud at all, like stated before people that buy the base 12 bolt are only getting like 2 or 3 more splined axles than a 10 bolt now throw some 33 or 35 spline axles and they are damn near indestructible. although the 9 in. is stronger

Ive had a moser 12 bolt since 2005 .I haven't been nice to it at all. 33 splines with a 4 series tru track since day one. M6 drag radials launching at 5500 a few times hooking hard off the line. No whine here or and bolts ever backing out. Take your pick but go over anything before installation.

After several of these at 6500 RPM, mine barely whines:

Got it used, moser 12, 4.30 gears, pops its *** off making turns, but that is the diff. Not to mention all the spherical rod ends making noise.
