You don't have to get a bigger one just a better quality one. I had one that came from Oreilly's and it lasted 5 minutes.

I got my alternator from LKQ for $43.30. They will probably ship if you call them. Look them up online and give them a shout. They sell things on ebay to so it's safe to assume they will ship parts.

The off the shelf alternators at parts stores are pure garbage. Take yours to an alternator builder or get a truck alternator. Those are your best options.
