I do this every year and there always seems to be alot of Tech members show up from the DFW,Amarillo,ETC. Well its a event where they Cruise cars 78 and older from 7-10 on saturday night and have a burnout compitetion on saturday morning and a Car show Sunday. There is a Drag Strip on the west side of W.F. were they race late into the night, there used to be alot of racing in Vernon but the Law has cracked down hard on street racing. So If you don't have anything to do this weekend and wanna check some cool hot rods and have a good time come down, there is a new Hampton that just opened up they might have some room.........

Yea the law cracked down big time after that wreck on the access road a few years ago. I doubt I will be able to make it this year since I'm currently working in Port Arthur.

Yes sir. But that was a fun year, some bad *** cars ran on the street. Especially that murdered out nova, can't remember his name.

He was after the title of fastest street car or something along those lines

Yea I remember the farm truck. Even saw him at burning the bricks in Dumas. I saw a thread on yellowbullet that I'm pretty sure, had the nova and a few others in there.

Summer's last blast has always been pretty good, but seems like each year isn't as good as the last.

It was fun while it lasted. A few things went wrong on that pass and everything went down hill. Damn car was way too fast for the street and what it had. Or should I say, didn't have.

Was there with the guys when it happened. Still scares me thinking about it. I'll never go back.

I have been to Vernon... Once. Back in 93'ish

A close friend and I headed up there to visit his relatives. One of his relatives lived on some land just outside of Vernon.

In his garage, under a cover, he had a 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am.

I never made it back to Vernon but I have thought about that trip and that car for years.

You guys know the owner or know what happened to the car?

My close friend went by his middle name Angel back then and now go's by Johny.

Just a shot in the dark.

I would guess South Vernon as we were coming from Houston and we stopped at his house first.

haha no it's actually smaller than when you were here ! I mean't north or south of town but I know a guy south of town that has 4 or 5 ta's that sits in a barn and I think that 20th anniv. is one of them.
