Well I'm in Bridge City, way southeast, and I have house with 1741 sq ft living area that I built in '04 and last month I paid $145. I'm not sure on my grandparents sq footage but its a big house with a pool, pond, barn etc and theirs was almost $600 last month.

You need to change providers. You can save close to $100.00 a month by going to someone that offers it at .09x per/KWh

You can get 10.9 with reliant right now. Call them and tell them to get right on the rates. They are over charging you...

im a 1500 sq foot house, 1 fridge, hot water and heater are gas, but obviously the heater isnt running right now.

I have huge windows in every room, when combined with double pane glass, heat doesnt transfer too bad, and it provides enough light that i literally never use mine.

And with my houses lay out, just my dining room light, (3 CFLs) lights up the whole house.

1440 ft^2 built in the mid 50's with original insulation and windows - horrible leaks through the windows, they rattle with the home theater system
1 year old single AC unit
Gas heater, stove, water heater, etc.
M-F 85*F from 8AM-4:30PM
M-F 79*F 4:30PM-10:30PM
M-F 75*F 10:30PM-2:00AM
M-F 79*F 2:00AM-8:00AM
Sa-Su 79*F 2:00AM-10:30PM
Sa-Su 75*F 10:30PM-2:00AM

Spark @ 0.09 per KWHr. - $130/mo in Summer
Water/Trash (City of Houston) - $30/mo

It helps having an old *** oak tree cover the entire yard and roof of the house
I never water the grass and when I wash my car, I use my neighbor's hose
This tip also keeps me from having to pay to get my yard mowed. I haven't mowed the lawn since October 10'
