Hell no. Lol per my price sheet. 110 Ext Holiday Plug w/Switch&Circuit EA $525.00

I did go back to the invetory home I built my plan from and found a few more changes I want to make. I guess it helps to see your house complete pretty much,

Also went in the attic and there is lots of space but it wasted. For some damn reason there is a huge box the built in the center to connect the roof to for support. I'm sure the framers can fix that issue and make that cleaner. Also there is attic space above the 2 car part of the garage but no access to get to it so I'm going to get them to add a attic ladder.

You know my family has been building custom homes since 1953, and I've been on the jobs for a long time and full time since 2001. I just find it crazy that I've never seen a cable slab. I've even been to some classes on concrete. All slabs done around here are done with rebar, and we put under rheems under 99% of our houses. Guess we're just on a different base soil. Learn something new everyday.

That is when u meet the electrician on the job and have him do some side work for you. Upgrades are a rip off from a builder, so always better to go to the main source. I have done that and saved alot of money that way.

It depends on the contractors, Some are **** suckers and will say it voids the warranty if you have someone other than their contractor doing the work.

Is there any incentive to build new or is it cheaper?

With the drop in price of all houses, I just always thought you could get a bigger home for dirt cheap right now. But I know nothing about this stuff, just see the prices of some incredible homes for cheap. So all my knowledge is based on that, which isn't much knowledge. Also, I don't think I can get half of what my house is worth if I were to sell now. It's paid off, so I am looking at buying a dirt cheap 40k perfect foreclosed rental home right now instead of a new home for me and hope all prices come back up.

Not where I'm building. Look at price per sqft I'm under $85.00

I looked at buying used and people are crazy with what there asking now too.

Plus I liked the fact I could build how I wanted.

Also the only place you will find a place for $40k is in the hood.

subscribed. who is your builder if you dont mind me asking?(pm if you want) I am planning to build a custom home in the next 3-5 years similar to what you are having done, out near montgomery. I want everything to go as smoothly as possible since I am out of town the majority of the time. I wont get to do a lot of random personal inspections during the build.
Also any tips you might have for me to aid in the process would be appreciated. I am just about to start researching the process so if I pull the trigger before my 3-5 year time table and it comes to build I will be prepared.

Highland Homes is building my home.

I would use them before others like Threndmaker because Highland is always changing there design and materials to the lastest and greatest and every home is custom. Alot out there were cookie cutter boxes and I didn't want that.

Only thing that I wish I would have done was extend the length of the garage. I have 17ft on the far left from the tire stop to garage door, 19.5ft from roll up door to garage door on right side. My man garage is 18ft long. Wish I would have went 2ft in length but it's good.
