The NFL is very strict on appearance and uniforms on the field. Everything on you see on the field is planned out by the NFL. I'm guessing that the NFL allowed Sanchez to wear that mouth guard to appeal the Mexican audience. There aren't really any notable young Mexican players in the league besides Sanchez.
