RPR Friday Equals AAA Ride Home
On my last pass it looks like the flex plate(fly wheel ) let loose. I parked the car after the run , went to start it and the starter just spun. It acted like it wasn't engaging. Oh well bad starter I thought.
I'm never so lucky jacked up the car and pulled the started it had no gear left on it and a hole in the trans bell housing. I looked at the fly wheel and it's missing a section of 10-teeth.
I'm thinking the weld broke at that pt and took out the starter gear. It was a CAT brand. Oh well.

had this happen once while driving...
that big chunk broken off locked up in the flywheel, and long story short the dealer dropped the oil pan and found metal shavings.
extended warranty = new shortblock
