Question Opinions on the Kia Optima Turbo?!

Was just wondering if anybody on here bought one as a DD or know someone who does and what their opinions were? I was thinking towards the end of the year about possibly trading in my SS Cobalt for a 4 door just because I'd like more room.

I know Kia hasn't had the best reputation but they seem up and coming and pretty reputable now. I love the idea of a good turbo set up for some good power and great gas mileage. Plus, for the price you pay you get a really nice tech set up for the interior.

Any opinions?

Dude, don't buy a Kia. Check out the Cruze Eco or the Focus.

Good luck finding a turbo - unless the local dealership (Sterling in Bryan/College Station) was lying or just didnt want our money, they stopped production on the turbos and wont start up until the end of the summer. A nationwide search showed just two available back in october and they were purchased before we could do a dealer trade...

There's quite a few on Autotrader.

Unless things have changed, KIA is a pos. I would rather have a lightly used late model Civic any day of the week over anything from KIA.

Killed In Action

Plus in Florida there used to be a buy one get one free promotion. I saw the billboards when i was stationed over there in Pensacola. And the Kia Rental I had, I blew the motor up with no nitrous.

My dealership has alot, we are a volume dealership though so we are allocated alot of cars. Come to my dealership and we'll make you a better deal than anyone...

If I can get cats on my TA soon, I'm going to be trading it in for an SX Optima or an SX Sorento. If you haven't seen one, check them out. They aren't what they used to be. Hyundai/Kia are the hottest makers right now.

<- I was a Kia hater 2 years ago, but not anymore.

VinR1: I'm back in the DFW area now and Powerhouse is right, I found a couple of turbos on autotrader, the cars had like 10 or 11 miles on 'em and they were reduced by like 1k or so.

I'm gonna PM Donohue to get his opinion on this since he works around them all day long. I know they've had a rough past dealing with a poor reputation but when i priced and built a fully loaded turbo it just seemed pretty nice and I haven't heard any horror stories recently about kia.

V8sten: what kinda model did you blow up the motor in?! lol

haha nice timing! i was just about to get your opinion on it!

I do have a question about trade ins, so i'll pm you about that later. I'm not looking to do this until the end of this year, probably around october/november. I was just starting my research and looking into good 4 doors with nice technology interiors and a bit of a sporty feel

If you don't want to buy from me, no problem. Just stating you'll get a better price.

I even recommended an SX Optima to my brother in Maryland.

I was also looking at the cruze and ford taurus sho...really the sho was for entertainment because it is too pricy for me. the cruze seems like a nice option as well. like i said earlier, i'm just starting some research, so i'm looking into the optima sx and wanted some more details there.

All of these "foreign brands" supply some of us Americans a pay check.
