I'm getting a whopping 300 bucks back. Ha not surprised considering I was tax free for 11 months of the year.

Getting $37xx back some time next week. A bit less than usual as my older daughter turned 17 last year, so no deduction for her anymore.

I sold my house last year so I don't have that deduction. I put $12,000 in my 401K to try and balance it out but I have no idea if I will owe or get money back. I will find out this week.

Does anyone know if you can still write off the sales tax on a new car?

Being a home owner is no guarantee of a bigger refund. That's another real estate agent myth.

With our dependants and deductions we should get some back. Going to run through turbo tax this weekend to see if it is worth my time letting a cpa look at it also.

Nope your deductions need to be higher then the standard deduction. Ie interest/taxes/mortgage insurance.

Ask me how i know !! FML!!

600 bucks back, turbo tax took $80..

81k in agi, married 1 kid... Wish i was getting EIC. Not fair that some get it. Should be all or nothing. Its like we are punished for not living in poverty.

Hi, you can calculate your sales tax based off of Major purchases and a formula that the IRS has that determines your remaining sales tax off of your income. The IRS will accept this deduction if it larger than your standard deduction (Single, Married, H.O.H.). Usually it's not unless you spent a lot in a high tax area and are Single.

After 2 dependents, homeowner, childcare, and wife's school loans, I will owe about $750 bucks. Before the deductions it was about $5K.
