Ideas on locating a lost car? (1969 Camaro)
Hey guys,
It's been awhile since i've posted on here but recently I thought trying to find my dad's old 69 Camaro would be a fun project.
We owned and showed the car for several years prior to selling it to a Nebraska man in the fall of 1998.
I have ran the car through a few Police Officer's to no avail and gone onto Nebraska's title office to see if the car was ever taken out of my dad's name. It has not.
So, my question is. What's the best way of going about this?
I assume the car cannot be registered in another state without the title being transferred but that may just mean the car was never registered in Nebraska again.
I have the VIN:124379N671259
Perhaps calling each state's title office and asking would be a first route?

The only way I could see this becoming a reality is to somehow request information from all 50 states (and they may not allow such a thing).
You could try InstaVIN (found it on google search by searching for the VIN you provided, dont know anything about it so I cant say if it works or not).

Find someone cool at a car dealership, they can do the same thing as the DMV. They can run the vin and at least see where it is and who the vehicle is registered to, lean holder etc.... Within that state of course.

i just ran the vin through public data. It does search Nebraska, however it says the Nebraska database was last updated in 2004.
No results found.
Just reread your post. Sounds like they never moved the title. Good luck. I would say it is gone.
