Default Engine search

Well I found out today that it's time to start looking for a new engine, so I'm enlisting you pros for guidance . A little background: '03 supercharged vette, mayhemII cam,RPM tranny, yank stall, and a lot of $$ into the body. I'm not a racer so I don't need anything crazy, so I was thinking maybe something out of a totaled vette, LMR rebuild, EG stroked,G-Force, HKE.The problem with the last four are my funds are a little low at the moment and those are getting a little pricey. I have a few friends checking around town with their friends and seeing what they can come up with. Maybe a new ls1 or ls6, and swap out some of my parts to make it work. Sorry for being long and thanks in advance, L8R DFLASH

Nice car, you could just have HKE rebuild the bottom end with some forged pistons and be done with it since you do not race it.

That's what I was thinking, I have a lifter sticking and with over a 125,000 miles on it. I tried calling them today and no one answered, waiting on e-mails with pricing from Steven at LMR.

The best way to get ahold of Erik is email.

A rebuild is probably your best option. Probe's 3.902" FPS pistons on the stock rods would work pretty well.

Hey Derrick. I got your text but was sleeping earlier tonight.

I would Email or get in contact with LME and G&G as well. I've got a guy that can R&R the motor for about half of what it will take a big shop. He is the one that pulled mine and found the cam installed incorrectly by EnglandGreen.

Since you don't do any racing and don't run much boost, I would keep the compression up around 10.1-10.5:1 and just forge your stock motor. Pistons and rods, then take it to one of the pros for tuning.
