I went to Jamaica a year and half ago through Sandals and stayed in Montego Bay, the only crappy thing about it was that I had to come back home, very depressing ride back lol. It was great and I plan to go back soon. Congrats on your marriage.

as a recent bride, i was so grateful we opted for a cruise! i really didn't want anymore planning in addition to the wedding planning. and it was awesome just sleeping for the first couple of days at sea without having to worry about anything or talking to anyone.

as for the destination itself, we went to the bahamas and key west. the bahamas were okay. it’s not that fabulous when u pull up to the port, it looked like houston’s ship channel. but with a 30 minute taxi ride, you do get to some pretty nice beaches. key west was fun, there were a lot more things to see and explore and we just walked everywhere. if we weren’t preoccupied with the wedding, we would have loved to go drive the nurburgring or catch an f1 race in Monaco.

Stay away from Cabo- too expensive for what you get.

We went to Mexican riviera - puerta aventura. It is about 20 min south of playa del Carmen. More secluded than playa. It was all inclusive, great price and best of all relaxing. After the wedding your just gonna want to sleep for two days. We went to playa to go to the clubs when we wanted action.

I got really hammered and would only respond when people addressed me as 'white lion'....

Sarasota FL! Ftw. Got engaged there in July. Plan on going to Tahiti for the honeymoon. Sarasota is beautiful and there's a lot of stuff to do for way cheaper.

Cozumel Palace in Cozumel obviously. All inclusive, every meal and drink is taken care of, drink dispensers and beer in the rooms with a 6-person hot tub. Several clubs and a huge mall within walking distance, you can plan excursions (pyramids, tequila factories, scuba diving, etc) from your room, 24hr free room service, etc, etc, etc. We were there a week and only got to do maybe 1/3 of what they had to offer...

My wife and I stayed at the Fairmont in Banff Springs, Alberta, Canada for our honeymoon, then went back for our five year anniversary. Now, that was in November, which is actually off-season, but it's a summer resort. It's in the Canadian Rockies, in a national park. Pretty hard to go wrong with that.

We decided to go there because Houston is hot 10 months out of the year, so we wanted to go some place cooler.

Here's a shot from behind the hotel, overlooking the golf course.

Amsterdam was awesome, haven't convinced the wife to cross the pond but it was a cool city to see. Lots of walking and bike riding and only a train ride through the countryside or even Europe.

Here is another vote for an all inclusive resort in Mexico. We stayed in the Riviera Maya region.

Be careful to check the weather wherever you go...hurricane season etc.
