It's just not the same at the track. I think it SHOULD be held at the mile. That way you have a longer strip etc etc....

Hennessey already has the connect at Elington field. It probably has a longer straight than his track and more than likely wider to accommodate some side by side action, but who knows if it's long enough.

For all purposes of racing then yes I do believe renting out a track is a smarter choice to at least draw a profit from the event. For the purpose of having a meet or something similar to the Friday night deals at Frank-N-Steins then I'm sure there are other locations that could be more exclusive or tailored to those truly wanting to attend and it can be more exclusive so you don't have 2k people finger ******* your pride and joy.

I don't have any disagreement with having an entry fee or having it at a track of some sort. I don't agree with holding a Houston based meet at a track in Sealy. Just my opinion...

I don't see why that matters. The dyno day and track day are both held there so why's it matter if the meet and bikini contest are??

Something has to happen we pay good money to go down to houston and have some good mature fun and it gets ruined by the local spring breakers. Have it at Hennessey just like all the other events your welcome to come and go as you please and can still get some good runs in on the 2 lane i-10.

do away with the night meet and just have the underground stuff going down and the hennessey meet. The night meet isn't worth the chaos. The only thing that goes down at Frankenstiens is the bikini contest.

I think just having more police there would help. maybe have a couple hanging out with their lights on. maybe this will scare the kids from doing anything to stupid. If we do charge like $10 a head then we could use that to possibly pay some more off duty cops to hang out.

Could do away with the night meet and have the bikini contest at Hennessy after dyno day.

Well the meet is more for the street scene I suppose. Also as previously stated its a HOUSTON based MEET. Not racing or dynoing, not trying to cut down LMP but imo I don't think there is enough actual pavement to hold a meet of this size. Some people, not myself, may have a problem parking their nicer sports cars on dirt/grass. Don't let it rain at all before the meet if held there, parking on mud isn't really an option for some vehicles.

I get what you're saying but people already have to park in the grass/dirt/mud at Hennessy for dyno and track day...
I'd much rather park my pos in the grass then next to a lady with 5 kids piling out of her car at fiesta, or where buggys will hit my car.

Heatwave, at least in Austin, is on private property. You can fence it off, kick out people that won't pay etc. I don't think you can do what the OP wants in a public parking situation.

Guys,

They are talking about renting out a gated/controlled venue for the Night Meet. They aren't talking about charging admission to a public parking lot. The funds would be put towards hiring security/cops, the venue rentals, port-a-potties, insurance, etc... A legit event.

Frank-N-Steins gatherings are over. I won't go back to anything held in that parking lot, period.
