Damn. All that power with a warranty and decent fuel economy. It's gonna be really hard finding one for anything close to MSRP unfortunately. Otherwise, I might be a player for one.

Ford has taken the horsepower wars to a whole new level, it outshines the ZR1 by 24HP.

It's a good thing they're coming out with the C7 Corvette and 6th generation Camaro in 2014.

That GT500 is gonna be a monster for sure. Dealer markups will be bad, you just have to find a dealer willing to play ball. My buddy has one on order for MSRP, dealer out of OKC.

I remember reading somewhere it won't be a limited edition like all the other Cobras so the dealer mark ups shouldn't be as bad as in the past.

Maybe, but I remember when the 2010 Camaros first came out dealers were asking $4-5k over sticker for those and they were nothing special. I think the GT500 production numbers will be low enough that smaller dealers will only get 1-2 a year. If you knew you were only getting 1-2 GT500s in a year, would you want to sell it for MSRP? This is how dealers think anyway. A big Houston dealer might get 10-12 a year, but still that's only one a month. That's a lot of interested individuals fighting over a very limited quantity of vehicles. Hence the added markup.

Yes I know how it works I used to sell cars. All other GT 500's were a capped production number this one isn't, they will make as many as the market will allow. With that being the case you will find many more dealers willing to sell them at MSRP. There will always be dealers that mark up cars but hopefully this will help.

I've heard of quite a few people placing orders for 2013's at MSRP...

I doubt this will happen....the ZR1 motor is quite a bit different from the ZL1....the ZL1 only has forged crank, while the ZR1 has forged pistons, forged crank and titanium rods....also 1.9L supercharger for the ZL1 and 2.3L for the ZR1, they would raise the MSRP quite a bit if they stuck the LS9 in there

Awesome as expected, hopefully this car and the current 5.0 put some sense into GM so when they design the 6th gen they will remember that it needs to not weight the same amount of a tank. I am even a fan of the current camaro but its just to big and to heavy but what can you expect from a car built on a sedan platform.

ZL1 is already proving it's going to have a hard time keeping up with a 2011/2012 GT500, let alone the 2013 monster.

GT500 production has NEVER been limited. They've always built as many as there was a market for. ADM's rarely have anything to due with production numbers, it has to do with demand. I've purchased two GT500's, one in 2007 and my current one in 2009, and I did not have to pay an ADM. Yes, the dealers were asking one, but that does not mean you have to pay it.

Not keeping up with the ZL1, because it is a tank but it makes 580 hp with a 1.9@ around 8 psi or so? The GT 500 makes 662 with a 2.3@10 psi or so? GM needs to put the 2.3 on it and the power should increase. Still the new 500 is a badass ride and wouldn't mind having one but don't need it at all. Should be interesting to see what the brains at GM pull out next.
