Default dfw shops for lsx swap?

was considering swapping out the lt1/a4 for a low mile lsx/a4 instead of rebuilding the lt1. does anyone know of any shops in the dfw area (or within reasonable distance of dfw) that would be willing to do this? i've been looking into the swap and it doesn't look terribly difficult, but i don't have the means or time to do it. any info is greatly appreciated

I'm pretty sure he is. I've seen the name pop up quite a bit on this forum.

I see you are in FTW.. I think SQR would be closer to you but if not there are many around the DFW area that would be able to help you.

You know they sell Fbodys with ls1s. You can even get them in autos or 6speeds.

So much cheaper than converting a lt1 car.

Thats true to a certain extent. If he currently has $3-$5k is suspension, wheels/tires and other stuff its better off converting. Or this guy could have owned this vehicle for many many years so it has some sentimental value.

OP, I have done many LSx swaps and it's not too difficult. Good luck

i prefer the look of the lt1 t/a.

also, i figured i could get out a little cheaper by buying an ls1 or lq4, freshening it up a bit and throwing in a mild cam and some decent heads than buying a decent, low mileage ls1 car. even if the price was a little more expensive, it would be worth it as i would know exactly what's in it. it doesn't hurt that the suspension/chassis parts are all relatively new, either.

this isn't a for sure thing. just tracking down some places and getting quotes. trying to decide whether i should build the lt1, convert ls1, buy ls1 car, or buy a nicer, newer car but live with a car payment.
