The dealer sounds a little shady to me. CPO warranty only belongs to the CPO buyer, it is not transferable. If I were you, I would want to return the car. The likelihood of the previous owner trading that car in good condition is slim.

LSX block has "LSX" cast into the front of it, and a Chevy bowtie on the side. Either way, I'd still rather have an unmolested LSA under the hood of a CTS-V. Not some car that was hacked up and shady.

Just to be clear....I work at dealership and I can absolutely return the car. This was a very unique sitation on this trade-in, so many people had their hands on the transaction.

Once I get the full story behind the car, I will decide if I want to keep it or go another route.

I will not hear anything back from the manager that worked the trade until Friday, so I am stuck gathering information ONLY to help me make the best decision for me.

I did just get the car off the rack and now that I know what I am looking for, I did confirm the short block being an LSX. See Pic. Don't know how I feel about the 8452 LS7 heads.....I hear they are higher compression than stock. Car also has a cold air intake and a Lingenfelter crank pulley.....I'm assuming it has the upper as well.

This is just my opinion, but I like the fact that the bottom end is more than likely built. I did not buy this car with the intension of it being a daily driver and I didn't buy this car as an investment....that would be stupid.

I will keep you guys posted as I get more information and decide on what I am going to do.

Thanks for all of your input and feedback.

It sounds like you might have fallen into a sweet deal. Curious about some dyno or track numbers.

The only thing that would worry me about this is knowing what kind of person builds a $8-10k shortblock and puts it in a vehicle and then trades it in? 99% of the time it's someone who does it and then breaks something and then trades it in before catastrophic failure happens.

I truly hope that everything turns out o.k for you and it was just someone done with their project and wanting to move on and traded it in and you lucked out bought a badass ride.
