***UPDATE***

Well since it's finally started cooling down here in Texas I am starting back hard at it to get it done. Just placed, hopefully, my last large order of stuff. I am changing a few things from my initial build, but for the better.

Ordered all stainless pipe to go ahead and intercool it with 32x12x3 3" intercooler. Dropped the 4L60E off this morning at my trans shop to have it fully built. Purchased quite a few items from members here just waiting on UPS/Fedex (PRC .650 Spings, Crane 216/224 581 581 114 Cam, LS2 chain, ARP RB). Going with house of wheels Black 18x10.5 C6 Z06 (red pinstripe) rear with 315's, 17x9.5 front 275's.

Should be pretty sick when done, can't wait!

Will post pics after this weekend when intercooler is all finished.

***UPDATE***

This week I got alot more parts in to finish it up. HPTuners came in this week aswell!

Here's what I completed this weekend. Installed PRC .650 Dual Springs, Comp Cam (230/228 641/602 114+2), TSP PR's, LS2 Chain, Plumbed in -10an Drain, 60lb Injectors, Set the motor in for hopefully the final time. Installed Fully Built 4L60e, Precision Turbo Converter, Slightly Modified Crossmember, Plumbed in 2nd 255 Pump, Vette FF, 2 Bar Map, Completed Wastegate, Completed 3" Downpipe, Custom built a double joint steering shaft, Modified Stock Water Pump, Modified Stock Accessory Bracket and I'm sure there is more lol.

Everything is turning out very well. Very happy with the 3" Downpipe the way it hugs the frame. That will help keep all the heat outside the engine bay.
Even and full clock to the right, does not rub the downpipe. Everything is clearing nicely. Steering shaft turned out AWESOME. I ended up cutting the stock slide coupler off the old steering ahaft and also the spline collar that goes on the steering box. I used 2 Duralast 3/8" drive impact ball swivel adapters and welded one to the stock spline collar and the other to the stock slide coupler. In between I used a 3/8" extension cut down to fit perfect. I fabbed up a carrier bearing for the steering shaft using a polyurethane steering rack bushing I had laying around along with a 1.5" collar I made from scrape exhaust pipe I had laying around. Then finished it with a simple piece of flat stock bolted to a extra hole off the motor mount tab.

Anyways, time for some pictures!

Check out how I tucked it nice and tight to the frame rail.

I do not have the steering shaft completed welded up, gotta get front wheels lined up with the steering wheel so I can get it as close as possible to be strait. But you get the idea.

Pretty sweet carrier bearing!

I usually don't grind welds, but I forgot to turn the gas on so it splattered terrible before I remember to turn it on.

Check out how much more clearance is available for huge headers, etc.

Have you thought about suspension travel and turning? from looking at these pics it looks like you will not have much of either.

Yup plenty of room. I'm not planning on slamming it to the ground. I compressed the suspension quite a bit with clocking it both ways, clears fine.

Nice update! I glad to see the 3" down pipe clears everything. In the pic it looks like the a-arm is going to hit the down pipe but I guess it's just the way the angle of the pic. Nice job!

Another very productive weekend! I changed up a few things again, but nothing crazy..

Changed up my downpipe to run between frame and transmission. Got it to clear great as I plan on running some new style Z06 wheels up front.

Anyways, got fuel system done, driveshaft in, turbo feed/drain done, water pump heater core outlets done, everything painted nice, core support back in and finished some small odds and ends on harness.

It's finally started looking like a complete vehicle again. Should have it to where I can tune it this week sometime.

Here's some more pics!

I can see you!

Yup I thought about that alot. I figured all the trouble I went they throwing a ls engine inside this thing I wanted it to lope. Hard to beat the way a ls motor sounds loping thru the down pipe of a turbo.

Alright! Well the past fews days a got a lot more completed. Finally got to start her up for a little after doing a lot of tuning. HPTuners is freekin awesome. Confused as hell at first but the more I read and messed with it, figured it out.

Anyways on to the GOOD STUFF! BTW, hopefully I'll get to drive it tomarrow. Can't wait to try it out!

I think the intercooler setup came out very nice! VERY tight fit but I wound up fitting all that 3" crap. Had to make some crazy bends to get it to fit.

1st Startup Idle Video! All factory gauges work so far, yes I know its lit up like a Christmas tree, Check engine light was I set MAF to 0 instead of 2, ABS light is on cuz front harness is unplugged along with high beam and battery. Air bag is front sensors disconnected until core support goes back on.
