Beware of Sanchez Auto Body and Parts in Grand Prairie. I have been a fairly loyal customer of these guys for the past few years and I have never had an issue with them till last Tuesday. Went in to buy a Saturn L300 engine, they required that I pay up front, so I gave them $1000 cash and they said it would be out in 3 hours. Waited around and 3 hours later I got a call saying that their mechanic had to go in the hospital and asked if I could come back in the morning. I said sure and left.
Next day I called and they said that it would be ready after 4PM. After 4PM, I called again and their mechanic got heat sickness and had to go home early and I could pick it up first thing Thursday.
Called on thursday and it wasn't ready, they said Friday. Getting sick of that BS I went up there on Friday to pick it up. Saw the guy I am used to dealing with and he tried to give me a motor with half of it's crap missing. Timing belt, harmonic balancer, intake, flex plate bolts, etc. When I brought that to his attention, he said that he could have one for me on Saturday morning and that the car was coming over.
Called Saturday and they said that it would "Probably be out". I had completely lost my patience so I went up there to try and motivate them. Stayed all day long and they had managed to get the wiring harness loose, the radiator hoses, and the motor mounts loose. Told me that it would be out in the morning.
I snapped and started bitching them out, saying that it's a 65 mile one way trip for me in a truck that gets 12mpg. They apologized and offered to deliver it to me on Sunday. I made it clear that if it wasn't there on Sunday, that I wanted a refund. Well it didn't show.
This morning my mom and sister got up sooner than me, so they called him and he said that he would give a refund. Once they got there, he went ballistic, started screaming and cussing at them, saying he wasn't going to give a refund. They had to call the damned cops, which of course just calmed the situation down and did nothing else.
So yeah, they have $1000 of my money and I have no motor. I fully intend on taking these ******** to court. So spread the word, don't deal with Sanchez Auto Body and Parts.

That sucks man, this is why you never pay up front for anything, only shady business do transactions that way. People who are proud and confident in the quality of their work never ask for up front money, EVER.

Im sorry to hear that man. Shady *** business. Just goes to show, you cant trust ANYBODY. Even IF youve built(at least what you THOUGHT was)a repoire. Good luck, bro.
