Yes and its a REAL 6 spd MANUAL tranny....
As insane/fast as the LMR vette, Gus' car is really in a different class...... That was like David and Goliath right there..... Gus' street car gave everyone else hell but its hard to battle with that big of an difference in HP AND having to shift it...
Both cars are awesome in their own rights... Both are exceptional builds from great shops.

Its not the fact that gus's car has AC and a 6 speed. lots of people doing work with those 2 things. Im more impressed that its doing the work on a rubber band tire. i couldn't get my 315's to hook on high boost so had to swap to 15in tire like most people. Gus was out there trapping 171 and on a big tire. **** be cray cray.
Hollywood and Gus were EXTREMELY impressive this weekend.

That's not even the same style race.

How come that ford gt that raced in the Houston half mile wasn't out there?
212 in the half mile?
Looks like it would have won? An it's a six speed too.

Gus drove himself all weekend, did a badass job of it too. I told him his heavy wheels are probably costing him at least 2 car lengths. They are 20s on the back, but they are still drag radials (Nitto NT05-R). Not exactly a normal radial tire, haha. His car would be faster/quicker on 18s for sure.

"Dimensions for pacing, acceleration, and braking zones have changed each event. For our first event we ran 300ft, 1,700ft, 2,000ft respectively. For the second we ran about 600ft, 1,500ft, 1,600 respectively. We change the dimensions to keep the majority of cars trapping under 200mph. Remember, the drivers are leaving off of a 60mph roll. Trap speeds are typically 30mph higher then at a drag strip. By the end of the first day we have a good idea of what to expect the following day and we can adjust the cones accordingly."

Give Gus some credit for his setup. Fast spooling turbos, a solid tune and a really nicely dialed in boost-by-gear controller. No way he could hook at the light on full boost. By carefully ramping in the boost, Gus could stay on the edge traction and use every bit of power available at that speed. That's a really smart guy with a great combo. But I'm sure it's not fast enough and you'll probably see more wild combos coming out of San Antonio at the next Invitational. Gotta love it!

You guys have to remember, that car ran 9.7's in that car with a different setup on 19's and no boost controller. Pretty damn crazy. Danny was driving the time he came to town for the track rental.

Thanks guys for all the props. Congrats to LMR for the win and making the cross flags # 1. We had a great time and tried to bring out our new creation but it still had too many bugs but Shawn Dunn was able to get a 176 MPH pass. Easy 180+ car once we dial it in, In the next coming weeks. We tried to go with the 20's to see how they would hook. At 24 psi it was ripping the tires up and couldnt hook. Thus the reason Gus lost some races and had lower MPH in the 160's. We had to cut 4 psi off the car to get the rear tires to hold from the roll. Should have known but we wanted to try it. Next time out we will be on a better tire and some of the final upgrades he needs to get the job done. Pat G did a fine job on tuning all of our cars. Ty forgot to hook his meth line up when he had to change the 6 rib belt after about 6 races and if it were meth dependent it would not have been good. My car ran great and I have no complaints. Raced against jeff and I guess we both got nervous and couldnt hit the gears. We will do it again buddy! Danny's ZR1 was just out of fuel so we could only do so much but the car ran really well for the amount of horsepower he has. All in all we had a good time and Im sure with all the current drama rules will be changed. Tony's viper was also doing some work and he told me how his new meth system works Glad to see everyone out there. Look forward to the new one Ill be at 1k to try and hang. 936 isnt enough

Because its by invitation only is a major reason, Private event. Not everyone can just register and come. It may one day be that way, but for now its to limit the size of the event. Also to make sure we have a lot of cars that have evenly matched opponents. Almost everyone knows everyone.
