Saab 9-7X info
I have been toying with the idea of picking up a Saab 9-7x for a DD. I am looking mostly at the 5.3i. I know several people on here have them or have experience with them.
Are there any particular problems with these? Is the AWD system problematic? The rear air suspension? I have read that arnott makes replacement parts for much cheaper than the dealer.
I just want to make sure there isn't something I am missing or any known problems that can make these a nightmare down the road.

I picked up one from a forum member as a daily. No real issues with them less a little buck from the drive shaft from time to time. Easily remedied, but i havent had the time. As you said, arnott makes air ride replacement parts that are relatively cheap. It's basically a trailblazer with different badges.
Gas mileage is ~15 with mixed driving. I just added a tune and efans and hope to pick up 2-3 mpg.

No, the most common issue with the AWD is the front axle splines going out and leaks, on the Aero models.
The 5.3i has a different front unit.
I love my Saab. I couldn't have a more perfect vehicle for me. The stock trans finally went out after 80k miles of hard and I mean hard launches with my 3600 stall and my old 4000 stall. 1.7 60' for just an intake, tune, efans, full exhaust, and stall 4800lb SUV isnt bad at all
