Default LSX Coupe Build Thread

As the title says I am starting to build my LSX Coupe. I picked this car up from a buddy of mine who saved it from a field. He lost interest in the car so I talked him out of it. Here are some pics from when I picked it up at his shop and some of the tear down. It will leave for the chassis shop next week and I will have my buddy snap a lot of pics through the process.

My plans for the car are:

Twin 76's or 78's
LSX 408
TF 235's
LSX Single plane intake
Powerglide
9"
Weld Draglites 15x12's and 15x3 1/2's which should be here Friday
10 pt cage
Team Z suspension front and rear. I already have most of the rear.

Honestly I am doing it to **** all of my Ford friends off!! I saw Daniel's car, a few other LSX Coupes and thought "That would **** my friends off to know end for me to build something like that!!" It has worked like a champ so far!! I can tell quite a few of them are worried!!

Yeah, I started to leave the porno red interior so I could use that as bragging rights, but I dont think my eyes could have tolerated it.

Patience is very hard for me!! My pocket book is in control of the patience though and it regulates it pretty well.

I hope it is that fast!! It'll need a lot more cage if it is!!

Looking like a start of nice build. There will always be a place in my heart for LS Stangs.

BTW while your doing all that make sure you reinforce the torque boxes.

I was surprised you sold your car!! Yeah that will be done for sure!! Uppers and lowers are both going to be welded as well as the uppers getting some 3/8" bolts through them so they don't pull away from the body. I was going to do a Stang Box but this car has been a bone stock 4 cyl so no damage has been done. We figure this should make it really strong.

It is what I have wanted to do since I thought about doing this. I had thought about a big single but we decided the twins would be better for street duty. Why do you ask? Am I missing something?

Myles I am right there with ya!!

Thanks Satan!!

Yea it became a maintenance headache. That should hold well. The thing I miss is all the parts are so cheap for that car and there is an abundance of suppliers out there or you can usually find used stuff in decent shape.

Looking forward to the progress. Should be a monster when shes done.

Twins are fine, its the sizing that I dont get enless ur trying to see how much boost/timing it takes to lift a head on a 6 bolt block.
