Without a doubt that cage saved his life. Unbelievable that the car even stayed in one piece at that speed. Just shows how important a well built chassis, and a good safety system is.

Wish you a speedy recovery Joe.

According to hotrodgossip2.com John Harrison recently did the upgrades on the cage. He is one of the best chassis guys in the Houston area.

Without a doubt! Every cage I have ever had built John has done. He takes a while sometimes, but worth the wait IMO.

Big props to the cage builder.

He obviously makes a good product.

The blue Z that lost the hood was not NOs car. It was a TT 408, we loaned them our spare yellow hood and the owner happens to be a relative. 216 sunday

Thanks. I got it right in post #60

Plus I found out afterwards that the white Z06 was able to post a 190mph pass as well.

That's scary and amazing at the same time. Amazing no serious injuries.

Curious about one thing though. Obviously damage will be severe.

But why have the tubes fractured ? I'm not knocking anyones work, as my welding is atrocious. But it's clear the welds have held good, and the actual tubing itself has fractured.
