ATK HP ENGINES Hiring Entry Level Engine Builder We are at it again as we keep growing way to fast!
ATK High Performance Engines is looking for a new Entry Level Performance Engine Builder Apprentice to add to our High Performance Division. We are currently looking for someone who is familiar with early style Chevy's and Fords as well as late model LS engines. The Division is headed by Mark Johnson, formerly of Reher & Morison Racing Engines. We are not looking to train fully from scratch, but someone who has some experience and the ability to learn/catch on quick. Must have own tools and be METICULOUS when it comes to attention to detail and documentation of work.
This is an entry level position in which they will be an assistant to our engine builders helping with the following and hopefully we can groom the person into an Engine Builder in the future.
Dressing out long block engines with components such as; Intake Manifolds, Distributors, Carburetors, Balancers, Flex Plates, etc.
Pulling parts for engine builds/receiving parts for inventory.
Painting Engines.
Crating engines as well as removing engines from stock and setting up on an engine stand to have built.
Setting up the dyno.
Help keeping the shop maintained.
Other Misc. tasks around the shop.
We are based in Grand Prairie, TX. You must have automotive knowledge and know the year, makes and models of cars from the 60's- Present. We offer benefits and 401K. Hey Guys, we were very fortunate to find 2 very good builders with great backgrounds in the industry. Did away with the apprentice position because we couldn’t let the 2nd guy walk away while someone of that caliber is knocking on our door. Surprisingly enough, we didn’t get much interest in the apprentice position.
I will keep everyone posted as we continue to grow and open up new positions.
