Steven were you sponsored by Team Associated back when you raced? I remember someone telling me awhile back that you were.
I had a HPI with a 2spd in it (I bought it to dominate Matt's HPI car).
Growing up though had a RC10-T with a few different "motors" that was fun as hell to drive.
Probably should get more into it... Cost a LOT less more than playing with cars LOL!

Yes, I ran for
Team Associated
Reedy Motors
LRP speed controls
Proline Tires/Wheels
Ko Propo Radio
They paid me to travel to all national events. Ranked in the top 20 in the world for a few years in a row for offroad 1/10 scale electric. I know it sounds gay but use to be in every RC car magazine back in the day.

Just to give you an idea of how long ago it was I did all prototype testing for the Associated B2 and T2 and was one of a handful of guys that got to debut it at the Roar Nationals probably 16/17 years ago. lol
Not even sure what model they are on now, probably B5 and T5. haha

Now I do have a question I saw a picture on the book of faces... Did your boat beat Josh's boat?

I got a Mamba Monster 2 2200KV setup yesterday. 1st i tried it with a 19/40 gear setup M1 and it was fun, today im trying out my speed gear set a 24/36 and good god is this thing fast. im still running a 3c battery and havent even pushed it yet. its definitely a handful now.
Im gunna try a stampede receiver box and see if i can get it to fit in the front, im just waiting for it to come in.

The 24 Pinion barely fits but it does without modification

The 36 spur is the same OD as the Revo clutch

Still 3s, im gunna buy, or make, a series connector and try a 6s, so this thing can really fly

Really any of the 1/16 scale traxxas cars. get a brushless one, you can set it to beginner mode which is 1/2 the power. then when its your turn you can turn it up. the 1/6 scale cars can take a beating and still keep going. here is a link to one in your price range.

Last night I had a little run in with a parked semi truck tire. the truck was on the roof prolly cruising around 40+ mph. it broke a proline power stroke shock, so i put the stockers on the front for now. i also added a little more than 3/4 lbs to the nose. it seemed to help it out on a 3s. it only lifts the front about an inch, now on a 6s it still gets on the wheelie bars but its reacts slower. before it was instant backflip, now its controllable wheelie. I also taped up the batteries for a little more protection and added more velcro to hold them in place.
