I'm not saying these was not any LS Based cars there, I just said I did not see any. There are very few LSX based cars in X275 or US...

Must be a different one that you are because these are the Qualifying sheets from the last Denton race and I dont see Ray Litz and Jason Smith. I don't know ATVRacers or Guess Who ProTree racing names.

Here is highlights from the 1st race, The only name I see is a CJ Petty...

North Star Dragway, located on I-35 about 40 miles north of Dallas in Denton, Texas, made a big splash in the drag radial world with the announcement of the Evolution Custom Auto EX275 class, which guarantees $10,000 to the winner and $5,000 to runner up in a 32 car field. After months of anticipation and countless hours of hard work from the staff at North Star Dragway, the series debuted on April 12th and 13th in a special two day event.

After a full day of testing on Thursday, several teams had dipped into the 4.70 and 4.80 range and with 37 cars in the house shooting for a spot in the 32 car field the pressure was on and the bragging rights were on the line as the first two sessions of qualifying were concluded on Friday night. Daniel Pachar took the top spot on Friday with a 4.68 at 150 mph in his turbo powered Ford Mustang, followed closely by Kyle Huettel's 4.69 at 150 mph in his third gen nitrous assisted Camaro. Terry Elam, Taylor Lastor and Jason Michalak rounded out the top five with the bump spot set at a 5.81 as the teams returned to the pits to put their machines to bed with two more qualifying sessions to go on Saturday.

With beautiful mid seventy degree weather and nothing but sunshine in the forecast, the expectations for Saturday were high and the fans packed North Star Dragway to see the baddest 275 cars North Texas has ever seen duke it out for the big money. By the end of the final qualifying session, Taylor Lastor had climbed to the top of the charts with a 4.680 at 154 mph in his nitrous assisted first generation Camaro. Oklahoma based Fred Silbernagel and his black turbo charged Mustang made the biggest improvement jumping from the thirty first qualifying position into the number eight spot. Brad Medlock, Wayne Long, Paul Broydon and Chip Raderchak also claimed positions in the top ten of the qualifying list. Mr. Evolution Custom Auto himself Marty Robertson put his 1968 Dodge Dart into the show in the final qualifying spot with a 5.25 at 144 mph as qualifying ended and it was time to put up or shut up as eliminations were to follow.

Final Qualifying Order:

1. Taylor Lastor - 4.680 @ 154 mph

I love to hear the sh-t talking from both States, makes it interesting! Maybe everyone can meet in Dallas like the OU Texas games and let the cars speak for themselves.

I'm a little lost by your 1st comment, Not sure what TEX275 is but the X275 race is held at Northstar in Denton. If most of the X275 done come the why is some of the top names in X275 on the Qualifying sheets.

You are looking too deep into what I said to the other Member. There is not too many LSX Based car in X275 and you have proved my point. Only one of the cars you mentioned are on the qualifying sheets are LSX Based out of these cars.

I agree, it's not like Chad is hating on lsx power, **** he's built enough of em, just saying they are not near as common as BBC/SBC/BBF/SBF when talking about these race classes.

^^I imagine racers are not yet comfortable with the LSX stuff, as the old school Ford and Chevy stuff has been proven for many years. Hopefully over time that will change, I love the LS engines.

I agree but probably by the time that happens a new era or line of engines could come out.

Some of the X275 guys have some Very deep pockets, If they knew a LSX motor would make them a front runner it would have already been done. Most of the cars in the class would have LSX motors...

Eric Stubb's rolls around in a Supercharged C5 Vette as a daily drive but his X275 race car is a turbo SBF. Kyle Huttel has a few LS swapped cars and he runs a BBC in his cars and his pockets are very deep.

Like I said before, a LS based motor is the way to go for a street car that makes a lot of power with reliability. If you want raw HP then Old school is the way to go. Next time your at the track on a friday night you will see a bunch of LS based cars, go to an event (Other than an LSX Shootout) and you will see majority old school motors.

that's not really why theres not many ls based engines in x275...a lot of it is based of rules and what application is best based on a given set of rules. Right now BB nitrous and LF88 seem to be the ticket I believe or its a mid frame..that and you better know how to tune.

I agree with you chand there are not many LSX competing in 275 because of the rules. If the rules were a little different i think you would see a few more and even see some light up the scoreboard that would impress a lot of people.

Event went .66 after that.

I know Berry isnt on 275s and is 4 linked but I am sure he could run pretty damn well if the rules would change a little. This is just showing you that the LS platform can and has made the power to run with the BB cars.

We are building a 2000 camaro right now that is specific for X275. I truly believed we are outgunned because of the rules but if the car is running we will be at every race just cause we love to race, win or loose.

Protree doesn't run x275... He wouldn't even make the field. Sorry. CJ's car has potential though. As for them driving on the street.... Is that off the trailer, onto the street, then into the garage?
