So since i sold my Corvette i need a fast car. Only thing is im a "Truck Guy" and a LS Motor enthusiast, so i decided to put both my loves together. I bought a truck that was light and was rarely seen with a V8. im doing a 09 4.8 with a t78, 4l80e 8.8 diff. out of an explorer. Stay TUNED for Updates...oh and i know "this thread is worthless with out pics so here you go.

Love seeing projects like this.I noticed the a/c compressor is still attached. Will this project have a/c & power steering?

Noticed the same thing last night and thought right away that it's a nice touch to even have AC on a build like that.

But maybe not...?

Thanks guys yes its going to have A/C. thats a must here in Texas. as for Power steering, it has manual steering at the moment but if i find it to hard to turn then i will put one on from a pathfinder. The engine is studed with rod bolts and a cam that made 850 on a pro-charger set up. The transmission will get fully built and so will the rear end. I am aiming for 700HP. It might be a DD when i sell my BMW

I would fix it. 1 1/2 up front will turn into 3 but the time the drive line ends at the rear end

YES!!!!! ive always wanted to do this. talk about shoving 10lbs in a 2lbs sack.

traction, dont worry about that guy. its gunna spin ........ a lot. when i had my s10, i just told people, when we race you will leave me out of the hole, but ill come around you sideways in 3rd gear. that truck will definitely make a driver out of you, itll be very fun once completed.

Yea this thing has no room what so ever. Im trying to buy the corvette accessories to be able to fit a radiator up front if not im going with a massive one in the bed. ill cut a big rectangular hole for it to breath from the bottom and put a air damn/scoop to pull some air in.

My s10 cuts low 1.20 sixty foots, on a leaf spring and a radial. You can make it hook.

Thats good to know. i plan on shortening the 8.8 rear end 3"s so i might not be able to use leaf springs.

So Decided that a turbo daily driver wasn't a good idea, specially since i bought a C6 with a blower on it. so i sold the turbo for the Hardbody. I'm still going to finish the v8 swap with with all the parts i have now. if i ever get "the ich" again i can just slap a turbo on it and go.

No I need both 31 spline rear ends. Both of mine are disk brakes and 373 gears. One has a locker I think. The Explorer 8.8 are 3" longer on one side so I plan on sliding the long tube out cutting it and re inserting it. I'll use the short shaft of the 2nd 8.8 to make a narrow 31 spline spline 8.8 with disc brakes 373 gears and a locker for under $150.
